349 Public Television stations are notified through PBS Express,
the internal Intranet communications network, prior to release
through the Public Television satellite system. Advisories
include transmission date and times, satellite coordinates,
story summary, and technical and editorial contacts.
Currently,
more than 100 U.S. public television stations broadcast Fast
Focus short-form programming in all day-parts, both "prime-time"
and "nonprime". The Fast Focus series now reaches
8 of the top 10 markets - over 60 million households nationwide.
Some
cable networks may seem similar to Public Television, but
are they really the same? The facts tell the story. Public
Television has nearly two times the coverage of CNN, Discovery,
and A&E. Nearly one-third of all TV households tune to
Public Television during the average week. Public Television
reaches 2-3 times as many households in primetime than CNN,

WORLDNET
reaches a worldwide audience 24 hours a day, seven days
a week by satellite to more than 740 international broadcast
and cable services in 65 countries.
Fast
Focus programs are now carried on WORLDNET, the international
television broadcasting service funded by the U.S. government.
Launched in 1983, WORLDNET was the first U.S. broadcast
organization to provide "made in America" programming
of high content and production quality to overseas broadcasters.
WORLDNET broadcasts news, information, educational, and
programming which originally broadcast on PBS, such as "The
News Hour with Jim Lehrer".

are available. The Fast Focus series receives viewer e-mail
from nearly every state in the U.S. and from countries as
